About Staging Works Wonders

My name is Mary Billish. From my early childhood, I have had an interest in creating a pleasing environment in which to live. I have taken numerous decorating classes. I have worn many hats in my life. I started out as a secretary right out of high school for about 7 years. After about 6 years of secretarial work, my natural desires became apparent. I tried working in a furniture store with the hope of assisting people with decorating. However, this did not turn out as planned. I attended one semester at Harrington Institute of Interior Design and then my boyfriend proposed to me. I decided that I would discontinue this venue as I would be able to decorate our home and would soon have a family, which is what happened. My passion was hidden and on hold.

I then decided to get my bachelor’s degree in Business (since I had all the experience in administrative work), which took a total of 9-1/2 years while I was raising my family. My specialization was in accounting. I then went on to get my CPA designation. I have worked for small accounting firms, my own business, and my husband’s business for approximately 20 years. During this time, I realized my talents in painting. I took some oil painting and decorative painting classes. This provided some pleasure for me. However, I kept on returning to my passion, which is interior design/decorating/staging.

I enjoy creating pleasing spaces to live in. I finally realized this passion because of the enjoyment I have had in decorating my own home and helping others decorate theirs. One day I was talking to a friend and she heard the excitement in my voice when I was telling her about what I had done in my home. That same day, another friend said the same thing. A light bulb went off in my head. This is what I love to do and what I do well. Staging is where I belong. I became certified as an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) from Staged Homes with extensive training. I have been staging/decorating since 2008. I love working with and helping people. I can create a beautiful environment for you, to help you sell your home faster and for more money. I can also help you keep that organized, beautiful space after you move, “staging for living.” I am excited about helping you.
